About Me

Hi. I’m Loren.

I write fiction, essays and articles about relationships, queer parenthood, adventure and the natural world. I want my work and writing to connect people to the joy of seeing themselves as a part of our natural world and motivate them toward solutions to save it.

I also manage digital content and strategy for a public lands conservation nonprofit based in Seattle, where I’ve written about hiking alone in winter, backpacking with a baby, the poop problem in our backcountry and what it’s like to adventure with an old dog.

I am currently at work on first novel (a contemporary romance about trail running and falling in love in Colorado’s high country) and a series of essays about parenting, climate change and nature.

37 Nights Outside Project

In 2024, I am writing about a project to spend 37 nights (or 10%) of my year sleeping outdoors.
